CAN is Proud to Sponsor a Nepali Child in Need

The staff at Great Wall and Children of All Nations all chipped in to sponsor Sher Singh Shahu, a Nepali boy in great need of an education.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to improve this precious boy's life and help make his dreams of becoming an engineer a reality!  We all feel called to reach out to children in need, and we are honored to be able to serve Sher in a special way.

New Philippines Waiting Children Added!

After Elections, Ethiopia Adoptions will Speed Up!

According to our partners in Ethiopia, the elections are over and key government officials are back in full swing.  This means, we will be receiving new referrals soon!!

June Referral News!

The stork has landed at Great Wall! Today we received referrals for families whose dossiers were logged in on April 25, 2006. The CCAA has completed the matching for families with dossiers logged in through April 26, 2006. Congratulations to these families!

Right now, we are working as quickly as we can to bring these families their referral! We ask for your patience as our response time to your phone calls and emails may be a little delayed. We thank ALL of you for your continued patience and support!

Sincerely,

Great Wall China Adoption/Children of All Nations

Help Push Legislation to Improve Haiti Adoption!

We got word from our partners in Haiti, For His Glory Outreach, that three U.S. Senators have proposed legislation to aid Haitian orphans who are still in limbo after the devastating earthquake in January.  Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) have paved the way, and we ask that you contact your Senator and House Representative and encourage them to support this new legislation.

According to For His Glory, "Without the rights of citizenship, these children could face unknown challenges and even the risk of being forced to return to Haiti if something were to happen to their adoptive families."

CAN Welcomes Home Another Rwanda Family!

Congratulations to our family who will arrive home from Rwanda with their new baby girl tomorrow!! This little one is loving her new parents, and they are loving her too!

We wish you and your little one all the best! We loved helping bring your family together!

Adoption Tax Credit

Because international adoption can be quite expensive, we are fortunate that the US governmnet offers incentives to families that choose to adopt.  The following story offers a good summary of the Adoption Tax Credit offered to families that open their hearts and homes to children from around the world.

TAXES & FINANCE: Claim a tax credit for adopting a child
By Jim Angell

Are you thinking about opening your heart and your home by adopting a child? Since the adoption process can be a costly one, the federal government provides some significant financial assistance with the adoption tax credit.

Here are some of the basic rules.

Maligayang Pasko (Merry Christmas) from CAN

We could not be more thrilled for our families that have already been matched with beautiful waiting children from the Philippines!  To help these families get a head start on celebrating the customs of the Philippines, we would like to introduce some of the holiday traditions embraced by the Filipino culture.

While there are many holidays of significance in the Philippines, Christmas holds a special place in the hearts and traditions of Filipinos. In fact, it is not unusual for signs of Christmas cheer to arrive as early as September in the Philippines.
