Latvia's Waiting Children

Sibling group of four:

Boy, born October 7, 1998

Medical Diagnosis – Practically healthy

The oldest brother has gray-greenish eyes and brown hair. He is very mature for his age, thanks to his role as the oldest brother in the family. He is social, friendly with others and sometimes distracted. He has no problems learning the new material at school, and he is gifted in mathematics. He likes arts, artistic activities and craftworks.  He also likes playing football and basketball. He would like to live with his older brother who lives with his father and has visited him a few times in the orphanage.  However, his relationship with his younger brothers is very important for him.  He takes care of them.  It is possible that he will keep the wish to live with his older brother one day.

Boy, born May 30, 2004

Medical Diagnosis – Practically healthy

He has brown eyes and light brown hair.  He is social, talkative, sometimes aggressive, impetuous, very active and attractive. He studies in the nursery school, and he likes playing with other children and toy cars.  He likes observing nature, people and cars during walks.

Boy, born April 29, 2005

Medical Diagnosis  - Exanthema allergy

He has gray eyes and dark brown hair.  He is kind hearted, calm and has difficulties communicating with others. He likes drawing, coloring, playing with Legos, listening to music, and trying to move to the rhythm. He studies in the nursery school, following the program corresponding to his age.

Boy, born April 11, 2007

Medical Diagnosis – Practically healthy

The youngest brother has blue-greyish eyes and light brown hair.  He is joyful, active and social. His development corresponds to his age.

The children live in the family orphanage.  All the children live in one family, and the social educator takes care of them.  There is family-oriented relationship between the boys and the educators, and there is a strong emotional relationship among the brothers.

Their mother was deprived custody rights in November 2009.  The oldest boy’s father was deprived custody rights in October 2009, and the other brother’s father was deprived custody rights in November 2009. Their parents didn’t take care of the children and their education.  They lived in dangerous conditions for their lives and health and future development. The parents and other relatives have never shown interest in the children and their current wellbeing.

The boys have one older step-brother, who lives with his father, and one younger brother, who lives with their parents. The decision of Orphan’s Court on separation of the children in case of adoption has been made.
