Educating Children in Nepal

Name: Mamta Kunwar

Date of Birth: April 18, 2003

Family Background: Mamta Kunwar is an inhabitant of the Chhapari Village Development Committee, Ward No-08, Lasku of Darchula District. Her father, Mr. Madhav Singh Kunwar, died a few years back from sickness. Her mother, Mrs. Parwaati Kunwar, is not educated and is indebted for five khatta of land in the village. She does not have any source of income. They have been living in a small hut. Mamta's mother works daily for survival. Their situation is dire.

Home Conditions: Her family condition is very poor. They live in a small hut. She is the only child in the family now. Due to the poor financial condition, it has been very difficult for Mamta's mother to support her education.

Educational Record: Mamta Kunwar has been admitted at "Darchula Public School" in Khalanga, Darchula under the ECN program since April 2010. She has been selected under the terms set for this scholarship program.
